Krisis keuangan global dan ketidakpastian geopolitik memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap volatilitas aset finansial, seperti saham, komoditas dan aset kripto. Kebangkrutan Lehman Brothers pada tahun 2008 memicu peningkatan volatilitas dan penurunan imbal hasil beberapa sektor pasar saham. Sementara itu, indeks geopolitik juga menunjukan ketegangan geopolitik, seperti perang Rusia-Ukraina yang dapat mempengarugi kestabilan pasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengabungkan variabel Global Financial Stress Index (GFSI) dan Geopolitical Risk (GPR) untuk mengembangkan model prediksi volatilitas dengan pendekatan Heterogeneous Autoregression (HAR) dan low-frequency data. Model ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan akurasi dalam memprediksi volatilitas yang dapat digunakan untuk membantu manajemen risiko dan pengambilan keputusan yang lebih efektif di tengah ketidakpastian global.
