DESIGNING TRAVEL PACKAGE INSURANCE AS A SUBTITUTE FOR HAJJ INSURANCE (A CASE STUDY OF PT ASURANSI CHUBB INDONESIA)
PT Asuransi Chubb Indonesia which established in 1998, although considered a new player in Indonesia, is actually a subsidiary of The Chubb Corporations, a well known insurance company in the United States, which have a lot of insurance products variety, from personal until corporate level and from life insurance to loss insurance. In Indonesia Chubb is trusted both by a lot of leading foreign and local companies in insuring their business. But for the public, Chubb is less known from its competitor like Allianz and Tokio Marine.
The Hajj insurance can be a very promising chance for the company to be able to achieve its business goals and to be known by the people, because each year there will be a lot of people who will use the insurance product. And right now, the management should offer a competitive insurance product if they want to stand a change in getting the rights to the Hajj Insurance. Strong financing and business reputations alone might not enough. A new product has to be implemented so that the company can grab this potential market opportunity. In implementing a new kind of product in the market, the company must change the generic insurance product with a better one with more feature so that the consumers know the extra benefit they will get compared to the regular one.
In the Hajj business, where there are some risks involve in it that could hinder or may endanger the Hajj participants while they are doing the religious activity. The Government already anticipated this by providing the Hajj participants with a Personal Accident insurance. To compete with this, the writer suggests that the company offers a more complete insurance package, because there are several other factors that are also important for the smoothness of the Hajj activity.
