EXAMINING DETERMINANTS OF TRUST: DUAL CONTROL MECHANISM PERSPECTIVE

MARPAUNG, WATI MARGARETHA - Personal Name; SOETJIPTO, BUDI WIDJAJA - Personal Name;

The stringent competition in the growing finance industry in Indonesia required companies to be superior to reach the market. One of the most defining factor in these companies performance is Organizational Trust. Trust is an important subject of social and organizational life. In human resources strategy, the importance of trust in the economy is progressively recognized at both the macroeconomic and microeconomic level. Of several factors that influence trust, Voice Behavior and Satisfaction are two of the most prominent elements. These two elements can be evaluated in the dual mechanism of control (DMC), as proactive behavior for voice behavior, and reactive behavior for satisfaction, respectively. And the application of those two elements can be seen in company daily practices such as HPWS, TMX, and LMX. As one of the leading company in finance industry, PT Kenanga applies Organizational Trust in its culture.

This study aims to evaluate the relations of the company daily practices (team member exchange (TMX), leadership member exchange (LMX), and high-performance work systems (HPWS)), satisfaction, in the DMC framework with voice behavior and trust as proactive and reactive behavior. This study offers explanations regarding the relation between employee experience and trust.
