This course is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of labor-management relations. The orientation taken throughout the course vill be the perspective of the general manager. As such, we will focus primarily upon how labor-management policies and practices affect the achievement of corporate objectives. Specific topics to be investigated include: the legal environment of labor-management relations, union organizing campaigns. collective bargaining, the grievance/arbitration process, multinational collective bargaining, co-determination, and promoting labor-management cooperation.
