BANKING AND FINANCE IN EASTERN EUROPE
This collection of articles aims to describe and analyze the sorts of problems that face the financial regulators, accountants and bankers in those Soviet Union and Eastern European countries that are, in line with political events, moving towards a non-command capital economy. The book is based upon a set of commissioned articles for "The Treasurer" and "Banking World", which followed from a series of visits by the author to bankers throughout Eastern Europe. The articles were written by both central banking staff in several Eastern bloc countries about the systematic, legal and regulatory changes they were working on and by executives of new commercial banks in the region, outlining their individual strategies and problems.
