This book is designed to offer a theoretical framework for the analysis of current trends in the Islamic capital market:

- it begins by introducing and deliberating upon the principles and the practices of the Islamic capital market;
- the main body of the book is devoted to explaining the basic concepts of Islamic finance, its features and philosophy, and how it works;
- in particular, the students need to be familiar with the essential requirements of different Islamic modes of business, thus enabling them to appreciate the distinctive characteristics of a capital market environment that adheres to Shariah principles; and

- emphasis is also given to the respective and alternative roles of various stakeholders and market participants in the Islamic capital market. The types of Islamic capital market operations and their related facilities will also be explained.
