THE EUROPEAN OPTIONS AND FUTURES MARKETS: AN OVERVIEW AND ANALYSIS FOR MONEY MANAGERS AND TRADERS
Europe is a diversity of nationalities, languages and cultures. As a traveller moves from one country to another, he changes his expectations and ways of interacting. The investor should do the same but seldom does. Lack of information often leads to individuals assuming that what works in one country will work in another. This assumption can and often will be an expensive mistake.
This publication is a compilation of a large number of authors' work from different European countries. There are inevitable problems when trying to impose a rigid format on contributors describing very different markets in different stages of evolution. Each author has therefore been allowed to emphasize those points which are of domestic importance within a basic structural framework which is outlined below. In some cases, access to statistics has been very difficult and what may be crucial to one market is incidental to another. The extent and detail of each section necessarily differs widely between each chapter.
