INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE: BEST PRACTICES FOR INCREASING CORPORATE VALUE

BRANCATO, CAROLYN KAY - Personal Name;

Today, officers of pension funds and other large money managers are much more assertive about their shareholders' rights and have become increasingly active in dealing not only with top management, but also with corporate directors. The practices Brancato describes are based on her research for the US Competitive Policy Council, her experience as a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors' Blue Ribbon Commission, and her work at The Conference Board directing international working groups of corporate executives, global institutional investors and regulators. Best practices are described from her global research as well as her working groups on defining and communicating key measures of corporate performance.
