CHINA BUSINESS: ENVIRONMENT MOMENTUM STRATEGIES PROSPECTS
Topical study of the Chinese economy and China business began from the early time of changes, and scholarly publications and guidebooks are aplenty. Despite this numeric achievement, there remains a paucity of textbook-style publications of comprehensive knowledge of China business. A few books which bear "China business" in their titles are either early works or collections of separate research. This study is yet another attempt to present a framework and certain overall summaries of China business for university students and enterprise managers alike. "Environment" covers essential knowledge and background information of this market, including cultural traditions, political systems and diversities. "Momentum" implies currents and vitality of changes in the economy, especially newly emerging trends since China's WTO accession. "Strategies" refers to various approaches to doing business by domestic Chinese and foreign companies and evaluation of their business performance. "Prospects" attempts to offer certain summaries of current trends and direction of future movements, which may benefit long term planning of business corporations. The aim is to provide essential information in most areas, in particular in FDI, and to place the learning of China business in perspective. Understanding the nature and gaining practical knowledge-these are the goals for putting this manuscript together as a systematic and consistent work.
