ADDRESSING THE IMPACT OF THE 2022 G20 LEADERS’ SUMMIT IN INDONESIA USING BIG DATA ANALYTICS
This study focuses on analyzing Indonesia's role as a member of the G20 post the 2022 G20 Summit it hosted, using advanced data analytics. It investigates how hosting events like the G20 Summit affects Indonesia’s economic and political standing, and its alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the ASEAN region. The study utilizes a range of data sources, including trade data, foreign presence, and legislative texts, applying methods like network and time-series analysis for a comprehensive evaluation. The results indicate that hosting the mega-events leads to significant improvements in Indonesia's foreign relations, increased international presence, and positive economic outcomes. Additionally, it highlighted Indonesia's unique position as the only ASEAN member in the G20, providing strategic advantages yet to be fully exploited. The study also identified key SDG indicators that Indonesian policymakers should prioritize, such as gender equality, climate action, quality education, and partnerships for the goals. In conclusion, the research underscores the importance of continuing to host international events and aligning national policies with global standards to enhance Indonesia's global standing and foster sustainable development. These insights aim to guide future policy-making, particularly in the context of Indonesia's evolving economic priorities and international engagements.
