Industri fashion global menghadapi tekanan yang semakin besar untuk menekan dampak lingkungan, sementara tingkat adopsi pakaian ramah lingkungan (green clothing) di Indonesia masih relatif terbatas meskipun kesadaran lingkungan Generasi Z tergolong tinggi. Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai faktor-faktor yang membentuk purchase intention terhadap green clothing. Penelitian ini mengkaji Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) dengan mengintegrasikan symbolic meanings dan consumer mindset untuk menjelaskan pembentukan niat beli green clothing pada Generasi Z Indonesia. Symbolic meanings dikonseptualisasikan ke dalam empat dimensi, yaitu status symbol, environmentalism symbol, innovation symbol, dan fashion symbol. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei daring terhadap 384 responden Generasi Z berusia 18–28 tahun dan dianalisis menggunakan Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).
